Attached below is an email from a resident that was provided to me. The resident emailed past councillor Annette Bays asking for evidence that I was providing “Lies and Misinformation” to the residents when the 4 councillors Annette Bays, Scott Anderson, Deborah Hall Chancey aka Deborah Hall and Jonathan Pita censured me accusing me of providing lies and misinformation to the residents on the Colgan Municipal Drain.
As per the email Councillor Annette Bays refused to put anything in writing. I wonder why she could not put it in writing to prove to the residents that the 4 councillors were speaking the truth and censured me based on facts.
The resident then asks Councillor Bays why did the 4 councillors amend the motion on the appointment of the engineers for the Municipal Drain in Colgan just before they censured me. If I was providing lies and misinformation to the residents, why amend the appointment of the engineers who were appointed without permission from the Drainage Tribunal?
Councillor Bays refused to answer the resident why the motion was amended or put anything in writing. Speaks volumes of the integrity of Annette Bays, Scott Anderson, Deborah Hall Chancey aka Deborah Hall and Jonathan Pita who censured me for providing “Lies and Misinformation” to residents but cannot provide a single document to back their statements.
Below is the 3 page email from Susan after the engineers were appointed without permission from the Tribunal. After the ministry informed me that they did not permit any appointment and the CAO Rhonda Bunn sent out an email in January 2022 admitting and confirming that no permission was obtained from the Drainage tribunal to appoint the engineers the staff then provided a report on March 22, 2022 admitting that the engineers were appointed without permission from the tribunal and the engineers appointment would not take place until permission from the tribunal was obtained. This is proof of what goes on in the municipal office.
As the four councillors were caught providing lies and misinformation to the residents stating that the process was followed. To cover up their actions contrary to the laws they censured me at the same council meeting immediately after accepting the staff report that the process was not followed.
Below is also Resolution RES-84-2022 moved by past Deputy Mayor Bob Meadows and seconded by Councillor Ronald Oleary, asking the township to provide the documents showing the process was followed. In a recorded vote the same 4 councillors who censured me Annette Bays, Scott Anderson, Deborah Hall Chancey aka Deborah Hall and Jonathan Pita voted against handing over the documents. I wonder why? Was it because the 4 councillors knew the approvals from the Tribunal did not exist and they were caught with their pants down lying to the residents.
No wonder none of the council members who censured me can provide any evidence of what I did wrong.
After the 4 councillors censured me without providing any proof of what I did wrong and refused to provide proof at the meeting of what I did wrong I then filed a lawsuit against the 4 council members to clear my name of the false allegations, that resulted in the 4 councillors retracting the censure.
As I insisted the staff report of March 22, 2022 indicate that the engineers appointment would not take effect until permission from the Tribunal was obtained, and the councillors were caught approving illegal appointments, they then decided to censure me as the 4 councillors felt they names were spoilt in the public by me informing the residents of what was going on.
Before censuring me at the March 2022 meeting then Councillor Scott Anderson now Mayor Scott Anderson told me he would consider not censuring (his notice of motion) me at the March 2022 council meeting if:
- I apologize to council because I replied to a resident on Facebook and informed residents that the process was not being followed properly.
- I would have to stop informing residents on Facebook what is going on in council. I refused to apologize to council as they agreed that they did not follow the laws and appointed the engineers without permission from the Tribunal.
I have also extracted the recording of the council meeting where three of the four councillors were investigated by the integrity commissioner for sharing emails about the past treasurer. While the township Integrity commissioner found the three not to have violated the council code of conduct we now have a huge lawsuit from the treasurer. I had numerous questions on the integrity commissioner’s report as if the Treasurer decided to take legal action as he did, now we have everything on record so no one can deny anything. During the recording you can hear Councillor Ronald O’Leary tell Councillor Annette Bays to stop harassing council and let the Mayor (myself) speak. Annette Bays further states that I am providing my opinions. Seems like her facts got the township into a lawsuit with the treasurer that Past councillor Annette Bays has left with the township residents to pay.
