Most intelligent people make logical decisions based on documents provided to them to read and understand prior to making major decisions and approving documents that affect financial matters. It remains to be determined what was the motivation behind past councillors Annette Bays, Scott Anderson, Deborah Hall Chancey aka Deborah Hall and Jonathan Pita to
- Approve the subdivision agreement without all documents in place and also approve changes to legally binding Land Tribunal Draft Plan Conditions AT-T-0601 and AT-T-0701 without written permission from the Land Tribunal?
- Approve appointment of engineers without permission from the drainage Tribunal?
- Approve the Colgan Subdivision agreement on November 9, 2021 and then approve the higher DC (development charges) on December 1, 2021 that resulted in the township loosing over one million in DC income as per the Township treasurer? This amount does not include any losses on water and wastewater.
- Past Councillor Annette Bays made it clear to me in a phone call that if I agreed to sign the subdivision agreement we could get some freebies that she could use to fix her house. I told her to stop contacting me with such offers as I was the Mayor of the Township and I would not take part in any activities contrary to the laws or accept freebies. After I made it public on Facebook that she stated that we could get freebies which she could use to fix her house, Annette Bays not claims that her statement was a joke.
- Past councillor and now Mayor Scott Anderson has stated in his email response to my January 29, 2024 email (attached to link Scott Anderson email) that “he was well informed prior to these decisions, having talked with both Township staff and the developer.” Based on this statement Scott Anderson was fully aware that the DC were going to be delayed to the December meeting and still petitioned a meeting to pass the subdivision agreement on November 9, 2021 that has lost the Township over one million in revenue.
- Past Councillor Annette Bays has stated in a meeting attended by other residents and myself that she was aware that Past Councillor Jonathan Pita was having private meetings with the developer.
- Past Councillor Deborah Hall Chancey aka Deborah Hall told Past Deputy Mayor Bob Meadows and I (Past Mayor Floyd Pinto) we should learn to live with the decision and resolution of council appointing the engineers without permission from the Drainage Tribunal although she was informed by the past CAO Rhonda Bunn on January 7, 2021 by email that no permission was obtained. Why was Deborah Hall Chancey aka Deborah Hall so desperate to force Bob Meadows and I to live with the actions of council contrary to the laws? What is even more interesting is that Deborah Hall Chancey aka Deborah Hall took part in approving the Colgan subdivision agreement and other reports fully aware there were concerns. Yet, now she questions the current council and developer in Everett as to how is the Everett development proceeding without updated studies. Her actions and statements seem like Hypocrisy, as she dealt with and approved Colgan without all documents when she was on council and now when she is not on council points fingers at others for the Everett development moving forward without updated studies.
